We finished canning our third box of peaches tonight. I think we did a total of 60 lbs. I can't wait to reap the benefits of all the work. We decided that since we still have jars of peach jam from last year that we should try canning peach slices. They came out very nice and they are worth the effort to can them: Blanching, Peeling, Pitting, Slicing, Canning, and Processing (Boiling). We are going to try some pears next, woo hoo!

Uncles
What are uncles for if not to throw you around and get hyped up?
At a recent family dinner both girls enjoyed getting thrown around by their uncle David and uncle Zane. Alicia is a little trick though, she will latch onto you for dear life if you try to throw her too high!
Me Doll
August 27th, 2008
One of Adrianna's first preschool assignments was to make a representative doll of herself. Sarah helped her put this fine doll together, complete with soccer ball and all. Sarah also helped her rehearse a short biography about herself that she could share with her teachers and friends in preschool. It is wonderful to see how excited she gets about Preschool.

Little Things
I would have never thought that the act of putting on socks and shoes would ever be so cute. But when it clicked for Alicia to sit down and stick her feet out so someone can put on her socks it just gets you. I am amazed at the little things Alicia learns from each of us, especially from her older sister. Usually it is those little things that touch your heart.

Sunset House
I took this picture while Adrianna was enjoying a short motorcycle ride with our home teacher. She has always loved motorcycles, and she has been itching at a chance to ride one. While they were going up the street I turned and saw the beautiful colors of the sunset which highlighted the house perfectly.

Fall Soccer
Reading with Tio David
Uncle David came over to the house on their recent visit to Colorado. He came by to join us for Soccer Practice and we recruited him to read to the girls. They enjoyed having a new narrator. Both girls enjoyed reading with their uncle. Alicia couldn't just allow her sister to have all the attention. She made it a point to get into the middle of the action and to be the center of attention.
Thank you David for spending you evening with us, the girls had a blast and can't wait for the next reading session!
Blog Break
I did not expect summer to come to such an abrupt halt. With Adrianna starting preschool, the whole family starting Soccer, and the wonderful cool weather; Summer is gone and I have not had a chance to blog all the fun we've had. I hope to catch up soon. So this blog will hopefully be inundated with new posts, just because I haven't blogged does not mean we haven't been keeping busy.

8 Year Anniversary
Sarah and I celebrated our 8th Anniversary this week on the 22nd. I took the afternoon off and we went to lunch and a movie with everyone. Lunch at Olive Garden was nice and then we went to see Nim's Island at the dollar theater. Adrianna enjoyed the movie, Sarah and I tried our best at taking turns entertaining Alicia. Popcorn worked well, until she dumped it on the floor and tried to eat it from there.
We kept our Anniversary simple this year, we are enjoying our girls very much and neither of us could ask for anything more than to enjoy spending time as a family.
